From window sills to country estates, worms are in your soil. They can pop up in any #garden, #pot or #compost bin. They give a healthy mix of sound gardening advice, and laughs – all based on what’s happening in your garden or down the allotments right now.

The wrigglers have their ear to the ground. Nothing gets past these worms, whether it’s seasonal shenanigans, or real gardening tips and advice, they have fun telling you about it.

  • Above the wrigglers gardening cartoon it reads: Regulalry deadhead the self seeders, especiallyhellebores, aquilegias and poppies The cartoon depicts two worms standing next to a guillotine style contracttion with a poppy seed head ready for the chop. One worm says, "It looks quite extravagant for such a simple task"
  • The cartoon reads, Call them courgettes or Zucchini, they are the same plant. Pick the fruit when they’re 4 to 5 inches long The cartoon is of two worms in front of a flowering courgette plant. One worm says, “ Some people call them Zucchini …”” The other worm replies, “I call them urggh!”
  • The headline says, “ You can sow perennial seeds, like Achillea, outdoors now.” The cartoon shows two worms looking at some Achillea seeds, propped up against a fork. One work says to the other,” Myth has it, Achilles grew from the blood of the hero Achiiles …” The other work says, “ Can we grow it from fish, blood and bone?”
  • The headline says, “Growing chill peppers? For the hottest chillis, grow them under glass and mist regularly to protect them from red spider mites.” The image is of two works under a chilli plant. One of the worms has licked a chilli and its face is red. It says to the other worm, “I now understand why the spider mites are red.”
  • If you are growing Marigold seedlings, be on the look out for slugs and snails, they love them. This cartoon shows two worms observing a slug about to munch on a marigold. One worm says to the other, “ Agreed, the slug looks like it’s it’s on one knee … but it’s not about to propose.”
  • After flowering either prune or leave your ornamental quince to grow its astringent fruits. In this cartoon two worms are looking at ornamental quince fruits on a branch at ground level. One worm explains, “you can eat them, but I find they numb my tongue and contract my throat” The other worm is lying on its back with its mouth wide ope, it just says,”yeeessss”
