Help your Dahlias flower right up til the first frosts…

Deadheading Dahlias, Buddleias and Cosmos through August will help you get a continuous autumnal flowering display – if you cut back the right buds, and to the leaf joint

Deadheading

As flowers fade, deadhead them, cutting back the stems to a leaf joint. You will find older flowers have tatty petals at the back. Deadheading regularly (weekly) will encourage plants to produce more flowers.

Dahlias will continue flowering right up till the first frosts kill the plant. Don’t take the worm’s word for it… here are some experts for you to follow:
