One you plant and water your bulbs there’s nothing left to do, except wait til spring …

It’s pretty easy growing bulbs. Improve your soil before planting. For most bulbs plant them at 3 times their depth, up to 6 inches apart – closer together if you want them to support each other. Then forget about them. If, like me, you’re a bit of a newbie … you’ll be pleased to hear there’s lots of advice out there.

You don’t need to water your bulbs in autumn, apart from watering them in when they’re first planted. In fact, it’s best if you ignore them until spring! Make sure to use labels, however, as you don’t want to forget about them and plant something else on top!
